Summary
Presbyterian is hiring a Skilled Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, and supporting clerical functions such as scheduling, referrals, authorization, and electronic medical record inbox management.

Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care during nurse visits in the ambulatory care setting per clinic staffing models.

Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care during telephone triage in the ambulatory care setting per clinic staffing models.

Manage medication refill as an agent of the provider using approved nursing protocols.

Ensure safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care of patients.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.

Degree from an accredited academic nursing program; if in conditional status approval may be granted by the system CNO.

Minimum ADN preparation with an expectation of BSN completion within five years of hire.

Specialty certifications in the area of practice preferred.

Professional Requirements/Emergency Response: Maintain current training in BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) and additional certifications as required by area of service (CDS Outpatient, oncology chemotherapy certification, ACLS, PALS, Pediatric Urgent Care PALS).

Experience: Minimum new graduate or experienced nurse from an accredited nursing program.

Perform other duties as assigned.
