Established in 2017, the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services was established through a unique collaboration between Augusta University Health System and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice with the goal of delivering high-quality health services to the state of Georgia’s justice-involved youth in 25 facilities.
College/Department Information Educational Requirements High school diploma with two years of experience and one of the following:
AAMA - American Association of Medical Assistant
CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
MedCa - Medical Career Assessment
NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant
RMA - Registered Medical Assistant
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Experience with electronic medical record is preferred.
Bi-lingual a plus.
As part of the facility clinical team, this position is educated and trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills in the medical care environment. Patient triage to include taking vital signs, recording of patient interview/complaints and prepares the patient for exams/ procedures as needed.
Entering clinical data into the electronic medical record and maintaining accurate and complete documentation in the patient record.
Assists with administrative clerical duties, answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed.
Shift/Salary/Benefits Shifts may vary and depend upon the availability of each site.
