Key Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and comprehensive nursing care.
Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes as necessary.
Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
Interacts with patients and families to communicate the care plan throughout the hospital stay and at discharge.
Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures with the ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
