Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-Based

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for a full-time, school-based opportunity in Chestertown, MD for the 2026–2027 school year.
If you enjoy working with children, collaborating with educators and therapists, and helping students develop the communication skills they need to participate successfully in their school day, this could be a great fit. Part-time, 20 hours
Hybrid: onsite service time, off site documentation and planning time
On-site, in-person
Guaranteed hours, including designated documentation, planning, and administrative time
As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll help students develop the speech, language, and communication skills needed to access their education and participate successfully in the school environment.
Providing direct speech and language therapy services to students individually and in small groups
Conducting speech and language evaluations and assessments
Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized IEP goals
Evaluating student progress and adjusting intervention strategies based on student needs and data
Supporting students with articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social/pragmatic communication, and other communication needs
Monitoring student performance and collecting data to measure progress
Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, therapists, administrators, and other school professionals
Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
Active or eligible for Maryland Speech-Language Pathologist licensure
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Clinical Fellowship (CF-SLP) candidates may be considered , with appropriate supervision available
Experience working with children
Strong understanding of speech and language development, assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring
Ability to successfully complete required fingerprinting and background clearances
School-based therapy is active and hands-on. The SLP must be able to safely participate with students in a variety of school environments and activities. Physical responsibilities may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, transitioning to and from the floor, and lifting or assisting with students, materials, or equipment as appropriate to the position.
Master's or PhD degree from a Speech-Language Pathology program
State License as Speech-Language Pathologist
Department of Education Licensure as a SLP
CF-SLP placement may be available
Experience working with children
Fingerprint background clearance
Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
