Nursing Supervisor

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and supervision of patient care on multiple nursing units and departments during evening, night, and weekend shifts. This role involves working closely with Clinical Managers and others to ensure high-quality, timely service is provided to all patients. The Nursing Supervisor serves as a role model, providing clinical direction to staff. They demonstrate expertise in the nursing process and evaluate care provided by nursing personnel. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring high-quality, cost-efficient patient care by making appropriate staffing decisions. They manage human resources within the Nursing Division to achieve high-quality patient care while promoting a harmonious work environment. The Nursing Supervisor functions as the on-site hospital representative accountable for coordinating operational and administrative activities for smooth hospital functioning on evening, night, and weekend shifts. They are a member of the Nursing Leadership Team, planning and directing Nursing Division activities to comply with established policies and achieve divisional goals and objectives. The Nursing Supervisor promotes a positive image of the Nursing Division through effective interaction with patients, visitors, physicians, community members, and the public.
