Job Description:

- Unit Overview:

• Immerse yourself in a vibrant PCU with 24 beds.
• Collaborate with a team that emphasizes teamwork and excellence in patient care.

- Shift Details:

• Enjoy 12-hour night shifts.
• Self-scheduling to promote work-life balance.
• One additional shift every 6 weeks.

- Patient Care Focus:
- Work primarily with patients suffering from:

• CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)
• PNA (Pneumonia)
• Sepsis
• Stroke/TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack)
• COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
• PE (Pulmonary Embolism)
• AKI (Acute Kidney Injury)
• Be a part of a dedicated stroke care team; skill in handling stroke patients is essential.

- Nurse Responsibilities:
- Titrate drips such as:

• Amiodarone
• Cardizem
• Heparin
• Nicardipine
• Dobutamine

- Support Staff:

• Benefit from the assistance of charge nurses and house supervisors.
• Engage with nurse aids at a ratio of 1:8 when full.

- Technological Features:
- Utilize advanced equipment including:

• High flow oxygen
• BiPap and CPAP
• O2 titration.
• Monitor patients with tele monitoring and trained tech support.

- Orientation & Training:

• Complete a tailored orientation of 3 shifts.
• Mandatory open book assessment during orientation with a 90% pass requirement.

- Policy Highlights:

• Adhere to a strict fingernail policy (no artificial nails).
• Be prepared to float if required.

- Weekend & Holiday Commitment:

• Rotate every third weekend with the option to volunteer for more.
• Participate in holiday rotations as assigned.

- Additional Information:
- Must possess the following certifications:

- ACLS

- BLS

- NIHSS

- Driver's license required and must comply with a 50-mile radius rule.
