Locum Orthopedic Surgeon

Job Description

We are looking for an orthopedic surgeon to cover 24‑hour hospital call during the following dates. Additional dates may be added as the call schedule is reviewed.

Assignment

Call Only (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM next day)

Responsibilities

Cover a 24‑hour beeper call cycle (7a‑7a)

Respond to patient phone consults (0‑6 per 24 hours)

See patients (0‑6 per 24 hours)

Admit patients (0‑2 per 24 hours)

Maintain a 30‑minute response time to all beeper calls

Qualifications

Board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery

Active Illinois license

Clean background (no malpractice and no NPBD reports)

ACLS certification

BLS certification

Emergency privileges available for those with 100% clean background

Experience with Epic EMR

Other Details

Credentialing: Emergency privileges available for those with 100% clean background

EMR: Epic

Availability: May change as call schedule is reviewed
