Job Summary: The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security policies. This role helps prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access while ensuring the safety of Saint Francis Health System (SFHS) patients, visitors, staff, equipment, supplies, facilities, and hospital contents.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

CLEET Armed Security Guard License. Certified Peace Officers must obtain CLEET Armed Security Guard Certification within ninety days (90) of hire.

Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of related security experience, preferred.

Ensures compliance with site rules, policies, and safety procedures. Protects patients, staff, and visitors, enforces hospital policies, and coordinates with law enforcement when necessary. Documents and reports security incidents, suspicious activities, and breaches. Ensures adherence to legal and regulatory security requirements. Enforces hospital entry and exit policies to prevent unauthorized access.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA), a safety sensitive position is defined as any job that includes tasks or duties that the employer believes could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.
