You'll also have access to:Career development with an international company where you can grow the career you dream of.Free medical coverage in our Health Investment Plan (HIP) PPO medical plan in the next calendar year.An excellent retirement savings plan with a high employer contribution.Tuition reimbursement, the Freedom 2 Save student debt program, and FreeU education benefit - an affordable and convenient path to getting a bachelor's degree.A company recognized as a great place to work in dozens of countries worldwide and named one of the most admired companies in the world by Fortune.A company that is recognized as one of the best big companies to work for as well as the best place to work for diversity, working mothers, female executives, and scientists.In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.Under moderate supervision, the CAD Designer II supports engineers and technicians in the creation and revision of CAD models and/or detailed drawings for medical devices, fixtures, and tooling.This is an hourly position and the pay for this role will be $32-36 per hour.What You'll Work OnGenerate 3D CAD models of new and existing design concepts using SolidWorks.Adhere to and apply current industry drafting standards to detailed drawings.Maintain CAD files and corresponding documents in all existing data management systems.Process engineering change requests, updating all applicable documents to current Abbott standards.May perform dimensioning and tolerance evaluations of assemblies, components, and drawings.May perform virtual analysis and simulation testing of 3D CAD models.Ensure that quality management system requirements are adhered to.Ensure a safe work environment consistent with OSHA requirements and Abbott Policies.Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.Required QualificationsCertificate, Diploma, or Associates Degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting3+ years of work experience in a Drafter/Designer roleExperience using SolidWorks 2023 or later versions.Injection Molding, CNC Machining, Laser Cutting, Laser Welding, Extrusions, Braiding)Experience using engineering measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.Experience using Microsoft Office products.Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skillsAbility to maintain regular and predictable attendance.Preferred QualificationsCertified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) or Professional (CSWP) certificationExperience using Windchill PDMLink 12.0/13.0 with Workgroup Manager or equivalent PLM/PDM system.Draft Analysis, Interference Detection, Collision Detection, Geometry Comparison)Willingness to learn Creo and AutoCAD mechanical through OTJ or professional training courses.
