This Respiratory Therapist role performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. Administers respiratory care modalities and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiovascular system, under supervision of the physician/advanced practice practitioner.
Responsibilities Perform diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems as part of patient assessment. Administer respiratory care modalities and life support according to patient needs and physician guidance. Collaborate with healthcare team to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate from AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy required.
License/Certifications: Current applicable state license in Respiratory Care, RRT, or CRRT required. Current BLS certification required. Current ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required or must obtain within one year of start date or according to department guidelines.
Experience: One year of acute care experience preferred.
Additional Information Sign-on bonus: $20,000 for Respiratory Therapists (limited time). Eligible candidates hired into a Full or Part-time position; bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires. Per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
