Material Handler - 2nd ShiftEaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Material Handler - 2nd shift at our Oakleys Ct site in Richmond, VA.The pay rate for this position is $19.47 + $2 shift differential per hour.This site is currently offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires.Core hours are 3:30pm - 12:00amWhy Work at Eaton?Health benefits and vacation timePaid holidaysCareer progression opportunities to cross-train in different departmentsOvertime opportunitiesRetirement benefitsPaid parental leaveEducational assistance program, wellness reimbursement, and more!What You'll Do:This position requires the ability to use a forklift or power equipment to move and store a variety of materials, parts, and products.This position will transport items from incoming staging area or from finished goods staging area to a storage area and/or shipping area.This position may operate an overhead crane or hoist to assist in moving of material.Individual will also complete related documentation associated with shipping and receiving material as well as move or expedite material to the proper department. In this function you will:Safely operate powered industrial trucks and material handling equipment to stow, pick, deliver, unload, and transport materials to storeroom and point of use locations.Visually inspect materials for damage and ensure proper handling and protection throughout storage and movement.Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas in accordance with 5S guidelines.Utilize RF scanners to accurately transact and track material movement within inventory systems.Operate stretch wrap machines and wrapping tools to secure loads prior to storage or transport.Maintain accurate stock levels by coordinating material movement, consolidating inventory across locations, and locating materials as needed to support operations.Perform cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory activities.Notify internal customers of material receipts or items marked to their attention.Flex between material handler areas and perform additional duties as operational needs require.Perform internal truck driving duties, including timely pickups and deliveries, and assist with product receipt and delivery to outside vendors and contractors.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:High School diploma or GED from an accredited institutionMust be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futureNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to obtain forklift certification and previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.Ability to use computer systems for the input and tracking of materials.Skills:Position criteria:Ability to lift 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of time.
