Assistant attorney - compliance

The City of Branson is seeking a dedicated Assistant City Attorney to play a pivotal role in our legal team, providing trusted legal counsel, protecting the City's interests, and partnering with departments to deliver exceptional public service. Provide legal counsel to City leadership and departments on a variety of municipal matters.

Prepare legal documents including contracts, ordinances, resolutions, policies, and legal opinions.

Represent the City in legal proceedings, Board meetings, and administrative hearings as assigned.

Protect the City’s interests by supporting litigation, ensuring legal compliance, and helping manage risk.

A trusted advisor who exercises sound judgment and provides practical legal guidance.

A collaborative partner who builds strong relationships with City leaders, departments, and the community.

A detail-oriented professional who manages multiple priorities and produces high-quality legal work.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.

Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a juris doctorate.

A valid and current license to practice law in the State of Missouri.

Any application, licensing, or related costs associated with obtaining a Missouri law license are the sole responsibility of the employee.

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in criminal law, business law, tax law, employment law or real estate law.

Experience in tax law, employment law and real estate law.

Familiarity with and understanding of Missouri state statutes and municipal law.

Experience with legal software such as Westlaw, case management systems, and legal matter intake software.
