Weekend A PCU RN

PCU RN – Orthopedics
Schedule:

Weekend requirement: at least 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Fri/Sat/Sun)
On-call: 1–2 weekdays per week and 2 weekends per 13 weeks
Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
Assignment Details:

~ Orientation: 12 hours

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years RN experience
Trauma Level 1 experience required
Teaching hospital experience required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
Experience with peripheral nerve block catheters and surgical drains is preferred
Proficiency in charting with EPIC
Roles & Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care to patients in a progressive care unit setting, focusing on orthopedic and post-operative recovery.
Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to appropriate medical staff.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and post-operative instructions.
Compliance / Notes:

Local hires not accepted within a certain distance from the facility.
Return to office/time-off cap: maximum of 7 days (requests exceeding this require approval).
Onboarding documents due 2 Fridays before start date.
Skills training for infusion pumps and glucometers must be completed by the Sunday before start.
