The Receptionist will answer phones, greet clients, schedule appointments, maintain office appearance, and perform various clerical tasks including filing, copying, shredding, etc.
Required High School diploma OR Dental Assisting Certificate preferred.
One year experience in a dental office OR a combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing and demonstrate a high level of listening skills.
Fluency in additional languages preferred.
Computer literacy, including Word and Excel and database software experience a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
Ability to use standard office equipment including phone, fax, copier.
Computer (PC) literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook email and database software.
Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.
Required to travel when needed.
Maintains office appearance on a daily basis, confirms tasks are completed by initialing the front office logs.
Responsible for ordering office supplies and restocking inventory.
Organizes dental records and copies of dental x-rays for referrals and insurance submission.
Accurately maintains and updates all patient records including personal and medical information
Travels when necessary to meet operational needs.
Other back office duties as assigned by Dental Center Manager.

The work environment is characteristic of a medical clinic environment. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client's use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care. The employee may also be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, urine) and hazardous chemicals.
