The facility has received few submissions so far. Description American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown Neuro unit position requiring 2 years of experience and telemetry proficiency at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Details Stepdown Neuro unit within a Magnet, teaching, Level 1 Trauma hospital

Patient population includes Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Epilepsy cases such as TBI, craniotomy, craniectomy, aneurysm clipping/coiling, spinal cord injury, stroke, seizure, and change in mental status

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00-19:30

Every other weekend required with scheduling flexibility

Uses Epic charting system

Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required

Must pass a telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation and management competency exam

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Prior travel experience preferred; first-time travelers considered only with strong neuro experience

IV start, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care and management

Additional Information Provide nursing care to neurosurgical, neurological, and epilepsy patients including those with TBI, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and stroke

Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response

COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Holiday coverage required: may request 1 of 3 major holidays off but must work 2 holidays (eve/day)

Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction

First-time travelers considered only if they have strong neuro experience

The weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, reflects the lower end of this range for local candidates and higher end of this range for travel candidates. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
