Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking Associate Systems Engineers / Systems Engineers. This position will be located at one of the following Aeronautics Systems Sector office in: Rancho Bernardo, CA | Palmdale, CA| Redondo Beach, CA | El Segundo, CA | Camarillo, CA | Beale AFB, CA

The qualified candidates will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Systems Engineering Organization.

The selected candidates will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to provide imaginative, technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. The candidates will be executing tasks in system engineering and integration functions. The selected candidates should be able to support SE disciplines including full development life-cycle processes, use case development, capability (hardware and software) development, integration planning, lab integration, test planning, formal test, verification and fielded test and mission support. Develop new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models.

Simulate real-time operations and develops software that simulates behavior of systems.

Provide support to flight test and fielded assets.

Model operational environments, perform trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures.

Perform operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.

Plans and executes schedules for engineering design package development and release to meet mission needs.

Technical impact assessment, planning and strategy for change implementation.

Gathering of data, requirements development, interfacing with suppliers, and performing basic stress and tolerance analysis

Acting as manufacturing liaison during build process of projects to ensure overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.

Testing and integration of manufactured Support Equipment.

Basic knowledge of design and analysis tools for mechanical design as well as basic drafting skills to include a working knowledge of solid modeling techniques (NX, Pro Engineer, or Catia).

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Systems (T01) or Engineer Systems (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Systems (T01)

Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027.

Be majoring in or having majored in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics or a similar STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

Government security clearance (U.Government security clearance (U.Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Systems (T02)

Be majoring in or having majored in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics or a similar STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

Government security clearance (U.Government security clearance (U.Active DoD Secret Clearance

Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).

Ensure pertinent design factors such as contractual, environmental, cost, schedule, technical performance, system integration, producibility, interchangeability, and material requirements are considered during development and program execution.

Ability to understand engineering challenges, coordinate with NG Engineering team in identifying paths for engineering solutions for support equipment.

Experience with JIRA, CPLM, or other configuration management tools.

Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.

Familiarity with Systems Engineering V model and Design processes.

Associate Engineer Systems: $76,200.00 - $114,400.00

Engineer Systems: $91,800.00 - 137,600.00

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
