Clinic Pulmonologist Physician

Emerald Resource Group

Pulmonologist
Breathing is the difference between a life in motion and a life on hold. In this role, you will own the clinical outcomes of patients with complex lung and critical-care disease-from first consult through recovery-so families leave with a clear plan, not unanswered questions. You will set the standard for timely diagnosis, decisive intervention, and care that holds up when the night gets hard.
Performance Objectives

Diagnose and treat a defined panel of pulmonary and critical-care patients so that treatment plans are started within the first visit and revised against measurable clinical goals.
Lead ventilator and respiratory-failure decisions in the ICU, reducing avoidable complications and shortening time to liberation from mechanical support.
Perform and interpret bronchoscopies and pulmonary function studies with documented accuracy, turning results into same-cycle treatment changes.
Close the loop with primary care, oncology, and cardiology so referrals are answered, handoffs are complete, and no patient is lost between services.
Build and run a lung-disease clinic pathway-COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, sleep-related breathing disorders-that cuts avoidable readmissions and ED returns.
Teach residents, advanced practice clinicians, and respiratory therapists through bedside decisions they can repeat without you in the room.
Contribute outcome data and case review that improve protocol adherence and patient-reported function within the first year.
Environment & Resources

You will practice inside a multidisciplinary pulmonary and critical-care service, with dedicated respiratory therapy, procedural support, and a coordinated clinic schedule.
Reporting line is to the physician leader for pulmonary and critical care, with shared on-call coverage designed so nights and weekends are sustainable.
You will have access to bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, imaging, and an electronic record built for order sets, not workarounds.
Protected time and staff support are available for clinic follow-up, documentation, and quality work tied to the objectives above.
Essential Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. with board certification or active eligibility in Pulmonary Disease; Critical Care certification or eligibility strongly preferred.
Unrestricted medical license, or eligibility to obtain one before start, and a clean, verifiable clinical record.
Demonstrated independent management of ventilated patients and performance of diagnostic bronchoscopy.
Track record of clinic ownership: timely notes, closed referrals, and outcomes you can describe with numbers, not adjectives.
Clear communication with patients, families, and consulting teams under time pressure.
Commitment to evidence-based protocols and to teaching the people who extend your reach.
Role Selling Points

Real authority over diagnosis, procedures, and ICU decisions-not a narrow shift with someone else owning the outcome.
A team structured so your expertise multiplies: respiratory therapy, advanced practice support, and consultants who answer.
Work designed around measurable recovery-ventilator liberation, readmissions, and function-not volume for its own sake.
A schedule and handoff model built to protect judgment, not exhaust it.
A place where teaching and quality work count as part of the job, not after-hours charity.
Call to Action
If you want your next chapter measured by patients who breathe easier because you were decisive, apply with a CV and a short note on one outcome you improved. We will respond to physicians whose work matches this standard.
