Program Manager for Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM)

Collaborates with facility leadership to manage, evaluate and maintain MSK’s institutional SPHM program meeting NY state regulatory requirements.

Leads the planning, implementation, and sustainability of SPHM programmatic initiatives.

Provides continuous evaluation of program performance measures, including collection and analysis of injury data, direct and indirect costs, and lost time.

Identifies risks, issues, and barriers, recommending solutions to support timely and successful execution.

Collaborates with various facility stakeholders during the design, construction or renovation of clinical care areas to address SPHM and ergonomic considerations.

Organizes and mentors SPHM champions in the management of unit‑based patient handling practices.

Collaborates with clinical educators from various departments to develop and maintain SPHM education and training according to NYS regulatory requirements and best practices.

Supports strategic planning related to operations, services, research, and resource needs.

Develops business plans, market analyses, and proposals to support new and evolving initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare field required.

Four to seven years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare operations or program management.

Master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field preferred.

Knowledge of SPHM practices and regulatory requirements.

Strong program and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Knowledge of systems thinking, change management strategies, and quality improvement.

Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to assess program effectiveness and outcomes using various data sources.

Clear and influential communication skills across clinical, operational, and administrative team members.

Commitment to advancing the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based, and innovative care within a complex healthcare environment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with flexible hours between 8 am and 8 pm.
