Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Room Nursing

Job Summary: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) in Hawaii is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity 28-bed emergency department. This role involves managing trauma, behavioral health, and cardiac monitor patients with rapid turnover, collaborating effectively with the healthcare team to provide timely and efficient patient care. The nurse must hold an active Hawaii RN license and maintain essential certifications to support emergency interventions.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 28-bed emergency department including trauma bays, behavior health rooms, and cardiac monitor rooms.
Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and implement treatment plans in a timely manner.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity.
Respond to emergency situations with appropriate clinical interventions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and care provided.
Support patient turnover and flow in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Certifications:
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Hawaii.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
~ Certifications in Procedural Sedation, Trauma Management Core Curriculum (TMCC), and Emergency Management of Pediatric and Adult Critical Care (EMPC).

Special Considerations:
Must obtain and maintain an active Hawaii RN license by the start of assignment if not currently licensed.
Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency room environment with rapid patient turnover.
Team-oriented approach required to manage trauma, behavioral health, and cardiac patients.
No guarantee of hours; flexibility is essential.
Scheduling:
Varied schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours total).
Shift assignments may vary; flexibility in scheduling is required.
Assignment duration is typically 13 weeks.
