Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)

Description: All previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position. Weekends are required every other week. Typical emergency department patients include adult/pediatric patients, ambulance triage, ED holding, and lobby triage. Responsibilities include breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, procedure sedation, RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation) drugs, trach care, and ventilator management. Nurses will administer blood/blood products, perform cardioversion/defibrillation, and operate cooling/warming blankets. Daily tasks include CRRT/dialysis and obtaining 12 lead EKGs. Shift schedules are posted every 6 weeks. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The unit handles a variety of patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
