Hostess/Food Runner (part time/day shift)

Iowa Athletic Club, a sports bar and made-from-scratch restaurant, is looking for Hosts/Food Runners to join our team! We’re located in the Iowa River Landing in Coralville, IA, right next to Xtream Arena.

We’re looking for dependable, team-oriented individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This is a great opportunity to build hospitality experience, earn tips, and work alongside a supportive team.

Fully trained Hosts/Food Runners earn $8.10 per hour plus tips, with tip payouts distributed the following morning.

Schedule:

Full-time and part-time opportunities available

Early weekday and weekend availability is strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

Welcome Guests warmly and help create a positive first impression.

Seat Guests promptly, provide menus, and assist with the overall flow of the restaurant.

Accurately estimate wait times and communicate updates to Guests.

Create and manage the waitlist while helping ensure efficient and fair seating.

Communicate with management, service staff, kitchen staff, and bussing staff to support smooth restaurant operations.

Assist with phone inquiries, reservations, and to-go orders professionally and efficiently.

Communicate accurate wait times, seating plans, and Guest needs to the appropriate team members.

Reset and prepare tables quickly to help maximize seating availability.

Assist with seating arrangements to support efficient restaurant flow.

Monitor restroom cleanliness and help maintain clean and welcoming Guest areas.

Assist with opening duties and help maintain an organized and professional restaurant environment.

Deliver food to Guests promptly and accurately while ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.

Communicate with kitchen and service staff to help ensure accurate orders and timely delivery.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must be 16 years of age or older

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced restaurant environment

Friendly and professional demeanor with a focus on creating a welcoming Guest experience

Ability to work collaboratively with teammates and communicate effectively during busy shifts

Dependable, adaptable, and willing to assist where needed
