Surgery Registered Nurse | As-Needed (PRN) | Day Shift

Cardiac Nursing Position

Our McKinney nursing teams serve a very fast-paced, high-volume environment with consistently strong patient census and acuity.

Ratios: 1:3/4 for nurses | 8 day surgery beds, 6 recovery room beds

A minimum of 2 yrs Cardiac experience, PCU or higher

Hours: Day Shift | Monday through Friday. Shifts are either 5a-5p, 6a-6p, or 7a-7p. No holidays. PRN must work 4 shifts a month- does not matter how those 4 shifts are worked (ie once a week, two every two weeks, four shifts in one week)

• The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.

Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.

Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.

Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.

Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.

Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.

Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.

A minimum of 2 yrs Cardiac experience, PCU or higher, preferred CVICU experience or Cardiac Stepdown experience
