About the Position
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a general intermediate population with conditions including CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, AMI, CVA/TIA, sepsis/infection, wounds, altered mental status, ETOH withdrawal, SI, general post-op, ortho, urology procedures, and GI bleed
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips (no titration) and administer blood products and heparin protocols
Perform and maintain central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care; manage PCA, feeding tubes, surgical drains, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
Provide tracheostomy care, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management, and oxygen administration; implement isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac management
Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed; document all care using EPIC electronic health records
Float within service line and to sister facilities as needed; both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license) required at time of submission
Required Qualifications

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license - both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license required at time of submission ; pending licenses not accepted
BLS certification required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry or a comparable setting
Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and all listed clinical skills
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills

Prior travel nursing experience preferred for first-time travelers
Experience with PCU, DOU, IMC, or Step-Down level care
Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records, including ability to test out of EPIC modules
Experience managing CVA/TIA, total joint replacements, and complex wound care
