Process Engineer About SiteCatalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100+ products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network.Position SummaryWe have an opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead projects that improve manufacturing safety, efficiency, quality, and compliance. You will work on capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and new product introductions. Shift: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PMLocation: Winchester, KY100% OnsiteThe RolePrioritize capital projects to improve site performance and efficiency in safety, cost, and quality.Guide the specification and selection of process, utility, and facility equipment to support site needs.Manage asset reliability risks that could impact plant or business operations.Develop systems to identify and measure key performance indicators such as uptime, downtime, scrap, and yield.Manage continuous improvement project pipeline and prioritize based on cost, benefit, and effort.Organize, manage, and communicate technical progress to Business Development and Project Management.Work with Project Engineering to ensure reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.Define, design, develop, monitor, and refine an Asset Maintenance Plan including preventive maintenance tasks and predictive testing methodologies.Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other issues affecting plant operations using data analysis tools such as Statistical Process Control, Reliability modeling, Fault Tree Analysis, Six Sigma methodology, and Root-Cause Analysis.Provide technical support to production, maintenance management, and technical personnel.Determine equipment required to meet customer demand and critical process parameters.Support manufacturing during critical process development work for scaling to commercial process.Perform other duties as required in support of Catalent Pharma Solutions high performance.The CandidateMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or related field required.Proficient in English verbal and written communication skills to convey and receive ideas and instructions within and outside the organization.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.Understanding of Automation Controls and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).Ability to work with contractors and apply current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) principles to project work.Fundamental understanding of project management methodologies including budgeting and scheduling.Strong organization and communication skills with engineers, customers, and site leadership.Ability to work with others to generate detailed documentation in support of projects such as business justification and user requirements.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents, equipment inspection, and use of computer monitors.Preferred Skills & Background2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Experience with project management or continuous improvement projects.Experience in pharmaceutical, food, or biotechnology industry.Competitive Paid Time Off plus 8 paid holidays.Medical, dental, and vision benefits effective day one of employment.Tuition Reimbursement to help you finish your degree or earn a new one.Site-based Employee Engagement activities such as NCAA Basketball Brackets, Golf Scrambles, Annual Onsite Pet Adoption Events, and Mentorship Partnerships with Local Schools.Employee Resource Groups focusing on Diversity and Inclusion.Environmentally friendly initiatives including Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up programs.Defined career path and annual performance review process with potential for career growth.Join the global drug development and delivery leader and help us bring over 7,000 life-saving and life-enhancing products to patients around the world.
