Rehab Therapy - PTA

Provide assistance in the provision of patient care and non-patient related activities to support day-to-day operations of the department.
Assist rehab therapists with direct patient care.

• Prepare patient treatment areas and treatment materials.
• Monitor and request maintenance on equipment.
• Participate in Quality Improvement program.
• Order equipment and material as needed for the department, monitor supplies, restock and maintain appropriate supply levels.
• Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of Sparrow Health Systems Customer Service Behavioral Standards of Performance, by respecting the Privacy and Confidentiality of those we serve.
• Demonstrates knowledge and maintains and respects patient right to privacy by following the HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures.

• Communicates with patients, families and customers using AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank).
• General Requirements • None Work Experience • None Education • High school diploma or G.Some college credit in a rehab-related profession Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Demonstrate physical ability to lift position and transport physically impaired patients. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, physicians, families, co-workers and other health professionals. • Demonstrate good time management in the performance of multiple tasks. • The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training and experience. • Ability to answer phone calls to the department and triage requests for therapy services
