(As a Cook I, you’ll be at the heart of our food court-style restaurants, preparing delicious meals and serving guests with warmth and energy. This is our entry-level cooking position, perfect for those ready to dive into the world of professional cooking. You’ll learn the basics of food prep, station operation, and kitchen teamwork while helping create “a day worth repeating” for every guest.**WAGE:**The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Arapahoe Basin’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. Food and Beverage cooks are eligible for a staging program that relates to applicable pay based on experience. Hourly pay range:** $20.50 - $22.50/hour**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*** Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.* Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.* Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.* Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.* Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.* Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.* Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.* Help us do our part with waste removal, including landfill trash, recycling, and composting.* Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in the kitchen.* REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** No kitchen experience is required for the Cook I position, but is highly preferred.* Maintain consistency and quality of similar tasks throughout an 8-hour shift.* Ability to work efficiently without supervision when necessary.* Available to work weekends and holidays.**Navigate stairs throughout your shift.* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.**WORKING CONDITIONS:*** You will work almost 100% of the time in a kitchen in a high-altitude environment.
