This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home.As a Patient Transporter, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service as you assist patients in receiving care. Patients enjoy communicating with the transporters because the conversation is not clinically focused and can help to get their mind off of why they are there. In this role, you will quickly become familiar with all areas of the hospital while leaving lasting impressions on patients and visitors.A PRN caregiver in this position works 8-hour weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) between 7:30AM – 4:30PM, with rotating holiday requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas using wheelchairs, stretchers or beds, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment.Transport patients during discharge to the hospital lobby.Approach and help patients and visitors.Verify and confirm standard precautions and correct patient identification by comparing information from the pager and patient wristband to obtain the correct medical chart and verify proper mode of transportation.Disinfect and maintain equipment.Perform environmental and safety checks, identify malfunctioning equipment, document findings and report malfunctioning equipment.Move and deliver equipment and linen carts.Complete three months of on-the-job training to learn multiple hospital and clinic locations, special procedures, patient and safety emergency procedures and proper body mechanics to safely move patients.Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma or GEDPhysical Requirements:Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
