PT Mental Health Counselor

The Mobile Response team is a 2 person team that meets with people experiencing mental health or substance use crises wherever they are, and whenever they need it. Our collaborative interventions can help resolve crises before they become life‑threatening. Join a diverse team that supports each other as much as we support the community.

Provide direct crisis intervention to clients and families, including de‑escalation, stabilization and linkage to appropriate levels of care, both in‑person and via crisis phone lines.

Dispatch into the community to respond to crises as part of the mobile response team.

Answer the LCHD local crisis line and 988 crisis line to provide phone crisis intervention to callers.

Available shifts: 1st (8:00am - 4:30pm), 2nd (4:00pm - 12:30am), 3rd (12:00am - 8:30am)

5.00 per hour shift differential for working hours deemed eligible for shift and weekend premium

Bachelor’s degree and three years experience in behavioral sciences

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year experience in behavioral sciences

Requires use of personal vehicle when a LCHD fleet vehicle is not available for outreach activities or to respond to crisis calls in the field.

Currently, you must reside in Illinois or Wisconsin to work for the Lake County Health Department. Any offer of employment is conditioned on successful completion of a background screening, drug and alcohol testing and may include a pre‑employment medical exam.
