Referral Specialist Full-Time

We are seeking a motivated, self-starting individual to join our clinic as a Referral Specialist. As part of our team, you will process insurance authorizations, answer phones, maintain and update health care records, and perform data entry. This position requires a highly organized professional with excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette. Our ideal candidate also has prior experience within a medical office and knowledge of medical terminology.

Referral Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

Process insurance authorizations and update patient records

Provide customer service

Excellent organizational skills

Verify eligibility benefits

Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations in a timely manner

Data entry of medical records and patient information

Initiate, process, and complete referrals to Specialists

Follow up on referrals within 2 business days.

Process Prior Authorizations in a timely manner.

Referral Specialist Requirements and Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)

At least one year of experience in a medical office or similar setting

Accurate typing and data entry skillsSuperb customer service and communication skills

Knowledge of HIPAA requirements regarding patient confidentiality

Must have knowledge of HPN/SHL, Tricare, and all major insurance portals

Must be able to manage computer applications with ease

Will be required to have a TB test and CPR Certification on file, prior to employment

Must have reliable transportation

This position will be part-time, through the first 90 days, then discussion of eligibility to transition to full time will take place.
