Grill Cook (Temp)

Shift: 11:30AM - 7:30pm

As a Cook, you will be responsible for producing breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu items, catering to various needs including therapeutic diets, room service delivery, catering needs, and employee meals. In the absence of executive kitchen staff, you will assume leadership responsibilities, ensuring food safety, sanitation, and the preparation and presentation of meals. You will delegate tasks to ensure timely meal preparation while adhering to established Dining Services policies.

Conduct daily pre-service huddles to include training and motivational points.

Inform kitchen staff of potential issues for timely resolution.

Lead by example in food safety and sanitation, maintaining a safe work environment.

Participate in and direct meal preparation and organization for meal service.

Train newly hired back-of-house team members.

Work with team members to ensure back-of-house standards are followed.

Minimum of 3 years' experience in line cooking and/or food preparation in hospitality or culinary-focused environments.

At least 1 year of entry-level kitchen leadership experience.

Current state-sanctioned regulatory Food and Alcoholic Beverage Licenses.

This is an active role requiring moderate to high physical activity, including walking, bending, and lifting (35 to 50 pounds). You will frequently communicate with coworkers and residents. The work environment may expose you to uncomfortable odors, temperatures, chemicals, or hazardous materials. Flexibility in work hours is necessary to meet community needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
