Registered Nurse

Augustine is proud to be the oldest and largest state of the art eye care center in the area offering the convenience of an eye center, a surgery center, and an optical shop all under one roof. With satellite locations in World Golf Village, Palm Coast, and Palatka, our board-certified doctors provide premier best in class care to patients across Northeast Florida. Our ophthalmic surgeons, perform cataract, laser, and ophthalmic plastic surgery on site in our state-of-the-art Eye Surgery Center. We are also able to provide eye examinations for adults as well as children over the age of seven while offering a full-service optical shop at each of our locations. We are now hiring a Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to support the clinic's goals of providing each patient with a positive experience while receiving quality comprehensive eye care from the providers.

The Registered Nurse provides ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in the facility in accordance with Physician's orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the scope of practice. Participates in the teaching of patients and family and provides leadership by working cooperatively with the other health care team members. Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Observing facility policies, procedures, and processes

Obtaining the patient's medical history, including medications, allergies, and reactions

Carrying out physician's orders

Observing the patient's medical condition including vital signs, affect, pain, and symptoms requiring further evaluation and treatment, and escalating concerns to the physician

Communicating to the patient and the care team in an effective manner

Administering medications per physician order

Appropriate documentation of care

Assisting with the preparation and performance of procedures

Assisting in medical records maintenance

Reporting and documenting any unusual occurrences and incidents in a timely manner

Serving as a clinical resource

High school graduate or GED certificate recipient

Graduate of accredited school of nursing

Active RN license in the state where work will be conducted.

Ability to make sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.

Demonstrates primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care.

Must be able to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement direct patient care.

Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center including direct patient care.

Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
