The Systems Administrator is a technical professional responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure systems that enable secure, reliable, and efficient business operations. This role manages core technologies including servers, cloud platforms, identity services, virtualization, storage, and backup systems while ensuring system availability, performance, and security. The position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to support infrastructure initiatives and operational objectives.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization's infrastructure environment, including servers, cloud services, virtualization platforms, identity management systems, storage, and backup solutions. The Infrastructure Systems Administrator collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support operational needs, technology initiatives, and business objectives while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and security requirements.
Administer and maintain enterprise server, cloud, virtualization, and storage environments.
Manage core infrastructure services including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security to ensure reliable business operations.
Implement and support infrastructure security controls, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, system, and service-related issues.
Support infrastructure projects, system upgrades, migrations, and technology implementations.
Participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance activities as required.
Skills Required: Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure administration.
Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and access controls.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Entra ID environments.
Experience managing virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
Industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, Security+, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
