Registered Nurse I (RN) - Hematology/Oncology- Remote

Location: Oncology Consultants - Medical Center CCO Office

Pay Range: $51,646.40 - $95,929.60

Job Description Summary
Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with the role. Provides triage care when necessary and communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members.

Key Performance Areas

Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents as ordered by providers, using Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines.

Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.

Responsible for new and ongoing patient education, continual patient assessment, and support.

Documentation: Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients, ensuring appropriate charges are captured and following proper patient identification per JBI for all encounters.

Teaching: Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side‑effects and planned treatment course.

Interact with patient and family in a caring, professional manner.

Telephone triage: Prioritize incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices from emergent to non‑urgent, responding within an appropriate timeframe.

Supplies: Assist with inventory and re‑stocking medical supplies, recommend purchase of new items as needed, and place stock in storage areas in a timely manner.

Complete annual required safety and nursing trainings and attend all mandatory staff meetings as necessary.

Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information.

Assist in training new employees related to job duties according to JBIs.

Work at any company location as needed to meet business needs, with reasonable expectations.

Work overtime when given sufficient notice.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding patient privacy, patient rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law.

Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and the Disaster Plan.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

Nursing Degree

Certifications / Licenses

Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi‑state license

Current CPR and BLS certifications

Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed

Previous Experience

Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting

Ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential; strong critical thinking skills and the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Travel
Up to 25%

Standard Core Workdays / Hours
Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
