Neurology, Neurologist Needed

We are seeking a Neurologist/Medical Officer to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA . The CDC is at the front lines of public health threats to Americans and serves the American public who rely on accurate data, health guidance, and preventive measures. The CDC also serves healthcare providers, researchers, policymakers, businesses, state and local health agencies, and global health partners that rely on CDC for data and guidance to scale improved health outcomes. CAMRIS International is a dynamic clinical research and international development firm that achieves innovative solutions to health and development challenges through high-quality, cost-effective programs and research management services. Our core practice areas include: clinical research; vaccine research, microbiology and infectious disease research, development and production; global health security; and HIV/AIDS programs. This is a forecasted position, and it is contingent upon contract award.
Provide medical and neurological expertise in the planning, implementation, analysis, and evaluation of scientific research studies, public health programs, and related activities.
Develop hypotheses, concepts, methods, and strategies for obtaining and analyzing data related to neurological and other relevant medical and public health risks.
Plan and evaluate long-range scientific programs and research projects addressing critical medical and public health issues and support evidence-based policies and public health action.
Serve as a subject matter expert and key advisor on the medical, neurological, and epidemiological aspects of complex scientific studies, surveillance activities, health services research, and program evaluations.
Design, conduct, and analyze evaluation studies, surveillance projects, and clinical and health services research to assess the effectiveness, reliability, and validity of public health programs and strategies.
Collaborate with CDC researchers, program managers, policymakers, and external partners to develop, monitor, and revise research protocols, data collection instruments, questionnaires, and related study documentation.
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from intramural and extramural studies and prepare scientific reports, tables, graphs, analyses, and other professional materials.
Review research and evaluation proposals, protocols, reports, and study data and provide recommendations regarding study design, methodology, scientific rigor, policy implications, programmatic impact, and corrective actions.
Support and monitor project and study sites, including reviewing data collection methods, assessing protocol implementation, evaluating program performance, and recommending corrective actions when appropriate.
Serve as a scientific and medical consultant, project officer, or technical monitor for assigned grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, and applied public health research projects.
Support the development and administration of research contracts and projects, including preparing statements of work and applying health services research methodology and evaluation strategies.
Lead or support preparation of research protocols and documentation for CDC Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) review.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with CDC organizational units, federal agencies, state and local health departments, academic and research institutions, nongovernmental organizations, international ministries of health, and other public health partners.
Prepare manuscripts and reports describing scientific findings and policy issues for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at national and international professional meetings.
Present and communicate scientific, medical, and programmatic findings to public health, medical, governmental, and other professional audiences and support development of scientific briefing and communication materials for agency officials.
Requires applicable medical licensure or credentials in neurology and experience working with CDC, federal, or related public health entities.
Experience planning, conducting, and evaluating scientific research, surveillance, or public health programs.
Experience providing medical and epidemiological expertise for complex scientific studies, research protocols, and program evaluations.
Experience analyzing and interpreting research data and developing evidence-based findings and recommendations.
Ability to serve as a scientific or medical consultant for grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, or research projects.
Experience preparing scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentations and communicating findings to medical and public health audiences.
