Mechanical Engineer IIIWe are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer III to drive innovation and excellence in our engineering operations. We offer company events, activities, and opportunities to participate in charitable initiatives that benefit the communities where we are located.Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvides engineering in form of models, drawings, feasibility studies, technical reports, design calculations etc. for assignments which have clear and specific objectives and require a limited number of variablesCreates 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo ParametricUtilizes Ansys Workbench or Creo Simulate to perform Finite Element AnalysisLeads and directs small engineering teams within the engineering department, ensuring efficient and cost-effective engineering project executionAdheres to engineering budgets and deadlinesInterfaces with individuals within or outside the engineering team (project managers, supply chain, etc.) as well as with customers and suppliers, with responsibility for acting independently on technical, project related mattersAdheres to engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations within the engineering teamsSupport maintenance of project engineering schedules and milestonesEnsures that engineering tasks are executed within budget, in quality and in an economical mannerPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsBSME or BSMET from an accredited engineering universityTechnical, problem-solving and communication skills5 plus years' engineering experience with emphasis on mechanical designExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of engineering principles, procedures and engineering standards (ASTM, ASME, AWS and DIN)Excellent attention to detailAnalytical and problem-solving skillsProficient 3D and 2D engineering software (Creo Parametric preferred)Good knowledge of Finite Element AnalysisMicrosoft Office Suite or related softwareWillingness to travel domestically and internationallySMS group Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
