Franklin, TN corporate office with remote work flexibilityTravel: Up to 25%The Compliance Investigator is responsible for conducting and overseeing prompt, thorough, and objective investigations of alleged or suspected violations of law, regulation, Acadia policy, and ethical standards across Acadia’s facilities. Supports the effectiveness of the company’s Compliance Program by ensuring concerns are appropriately triaged, investigated, documented, concluded, and resolved in accordance with Company policy and procedure as well as, Federal and state requirements.The Compliance Investigator partners closely with Legal, Human Resources, Clinical, and Operational leadership to drive standardization of the investigative process, assess risk, support and track corrective action(s), and promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and patient safety. The role requires the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, maintain independence and objectivity, and apply sound judgment in complex and high-risk situations. This role will be located in the corporate office, with remote work capability.We are seeking a Compliance Investigator to join our Corporate Compliance team. In this highly visible role, you will conduct and lead investigations involving regulatory compliance, ethics, patient safety, privacy, and healthcare operations across one of the nation's leading behavioral healthcare organizations.You will partner with leaders across Compliance, Legal, Human Resources, Clinical Operations, and Quality to evaluate concerns, identify risks, uncover root causes, and help drive meaningful corrective actions that strengthen compliance and protect patients.You will manage sensitive and complex investigations with professionalism, objectivity, and empathy while contributing to a culture built on accountability, integrity, and high-quality care.Every day, our teams help improve lives, inspire hope, and elevate communities through compassionate behavioral healthcare.Competitive Base Salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) Plan with Company MatchPaid Time Off (PTO) and recognized holidaysCompany-paid Basic Life and AD&D InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) and mental wellness resourcesOpportunities for professional growth and advancement within Acadia’s nationwide networkResponsibilities Lead Compliance InvestigationsConduct timely, thorough, and objective investigations involving:Healthcare regulatory complianceBilling and coding concernsFraud, waste, and abuse risksHIPAA privacy and security mattersWorkplace misconduct affecting compliance or patient carePatient safety and quality-of-care concernsDevelop investigation plans, define scope, identify key risks, and execute investigative strategies.Collect, review, and analyze documentation, records, data, communications, and other evidence.Identify root causes, control gaps, and opportunities for risk mitigation.Manage Intake, Triage, and Case ResolutionAssess reports received through reporting hotlines, employees, audits, vendors, and other channels.Perform risk-based triage and prioritization of compliance concerns.Ensure investigations are conducted consistently and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Present conclusions and recommendations to Compliance and business leaders.Escalate significant compliance, legal, regulatory, or patient safety risks as appropriate.Maintain documentation that meets legal, audit, and compliance standards.Partner Across the OrganizationCollaborate with Legal, Human Resources, Quality, Clinical Operations, Internal Audit, and facility leadership.Promote a culture of ethics, compliance, accountability, and patient-centered decision making.Support organizational efforts to maintain the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance.Qualifications Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Legal Studies, or a related field.3+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, investigations, healthcare operations, risk management, auditing, or a related discipline.Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including:HIPAA Privacy and Security requirementsStark LawAnti-Kickback StatuteOIG and DOJ compliance guidanceFederal and state healthcare program requirementsStrong investigative, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and case management systems.Ability to travel up to 25%.Preferred Qualifications5+ years of healthcare compliance or investigative experience.Familiarity with compliance case management and incident reporting systems.Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)Comparable compliance or investigative certificationWhy Acadia?We are committed to helping our employees grow professionally while making a meaningful difference for patients, families, and communities.If you're passionate about investigations, healthcare compliance, and protecting patients while strengthening organizational integrity, we encourage you to apply.
