Weston Hospital's Emergency Department features multi-disciplinary care teams and state-of-the-art technology to diagnose and treat patients effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns. In this role, fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your tireless efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers.
A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – with weekend requirements.
Maintain equipment.
Administer appropriate emergency medical care, including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, obtaining EKG readings and vital statistics monitoring.
Communicate with medical personnel at hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital if on the Transport Team.
Navigate Ambulance to scene of accident in response to emergency call if on the Transport Team.
Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program
Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic Training Program
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
Three years of experience as an EMT or Paramedic
Experience in emergency room, Fire Rescue, etc., or other critical care transport
Personal Protective Equipment:
