Optometrist, Community HealthMarion, OhioWe are seeking a licensed Optometrist to join a team based community health center dedicated to delivering high quality, patient centered vision care. This role offers the opportunity to diagnose and treat vision conditions while serving diverse and underserved populations in a collaborative clinical environment.Schedule: Full-time. Days and start and end times are flexible.Compensation: $115,000 to $140,000 per year, based on experience.What You'll DoThe Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations while meeting established productivity goals, conducting vision testing and analyzing results to diagnose refractive errors and eye diseases such as glaucoma, vision impairment, and injury. This role prescribes corrective lenses and medications as appropriate, educates patients on eye health, preventative care, and vision correction options, and addresses patient questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion. The Optometrist will analyze and communicate diagnostic results clearly to patients, check prescription accuracy and proper fit of corrective lenses, and utilize ophthalmic equipment properly, reporting maintenance concerns as needed. This person will coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care, document all examinations, prescriptions, and treatments accurately in the electronic health record, and refer patients to ophthalmology or other specialists when indicated. The role includes participation in staff development, training, and ongoing professional education, and involves working independently under general supervision while adhering to standard clinical protocols.Required QualificationsDoctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institutionActive, unrestricted Ohio optometry license in good standingMinimum of two years of experience practicing as an optometristStrong working knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic equipmentUp to date clinical knowledge of testing and treatment for eye injuries and diseasesPreferred QualificationsDEA registration for practitioners licensed to prescribe controlled substancesExperience in a community health, federally qualified health center, or underserved patient population settingBoard certification or advanced certification in a subspecialty area of optometryCommitment to ongoing continuing education in optometryCompensation and BenefitsMedical insurance, employer pays 70 percentDental and vision coverageShort term and long term disabilityEmployer paid life insurance401(k) with 4 percent match4 weeks PTO7 paid holidaysRelocation assistance negotiableCME, licensing, and DEA fees, plus travel reimbursementFTCA malpractice coverageTo apply, submit your resume and current Ohio optometry license for consideration.
