This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

As a Biologist, you will:

Develop, implement, and evaluate scientific policies, procedures, standards, and practices related to biological science, including the application of new methods, approaches, and technologies to complex or emerging public health issues.

Provide expert scientific advice, consultation and leadership in designing, coordinating and maintaining scientific project goals, objectives and priorities within a CIO and/or CDC/ATSDR and in the general public health community.

Design, oversee, implement, and conduct biological science studies, surveys, and projects to identify, analyze, and address scientific issues affecting public health operations, policy, and program effectiveness.

Collaborate with scientists, program officials, state health agencies, national and international partners, and other public health organizations to coordinate research activities, improve study implementation, synthesize scientific evidence, and inform future public health policies and program direction.

Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

Applying biological science principles and methods to support the development or evaluation of scientific policies, procedures, or technical approaches related to public health.
