Tax Associate
We're looking for a highly motivated Tax Associate to join our Washington tax team. In this role, you'll assist with tax return preparation, compliance, and planning for a variety of clients, including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. You'll gain hands-on experience with federal tax law and Washington-specific tax issues while working alongside experienced CPAs and mentors.
Because Washington does not impose a personal or corporate income tax, this role will also involve exposure to other state and local taxes such as the Washington Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax and Washington Sales and Use Tax, as well as multistate tax considerations.
Prepare federal tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
Assist in the preparation of tax extensions, estimated payments, and tax projections
Support compliance with Washington state and local taxes, including B&O and sales/use tax filings
Conduct basic tax research on federal and multistate issues using tools like CCH or BNA
Stay up to date on federal and Washington state/local tax law changes
Utilize tax preparation software (e.g., ProConnect Tax.) Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA-eligible or actively pursuing CPA licensure in Washington
Understanding of federal tax regulations and general state/local tax concepts
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Internship or 1+ year of experience in public accounting or tax preparation
Familiarity with Washington tax structure (B&O tax, sales/use tax, or multistate filings)
Experience with tax software such as ProConnect Tax.
Hourly Range: $28.85 – $32.00 USD
