Temporary Special Education Teacher - Middle School

Starting salary Tier 1 teachers: $44,880+ (Tier 2/3/4 Teacher salary is dependent on the experience. Other benefits include many paid days off, including breaks (we take an entire weeks in November and other points throughout the school year!), plus eight additional PTO days for Teachers. The district is willing to work with applicants whose licenses are in process OR request an out-of-field permission license is needed.

The Special Education Middle School Teacher, you are a KIPP Minnesota Team member and will directly lead instruction with students. Special Education teachers co‑teach alongside a general education teacher in an inclusion or resource classroom setting to support all students and lead small group instructional spaces. They will plan daily lessons that lead to high levels of student achievement and build and support a school‑wide culture and excellence.

Implement the school‑wide student management policies within classrooms and everywhere on campus

Maintain a neat, clean classroom environment and a professional personal appearance

Perform morning, lunch and afternoon duties as assigned and attend all staff meetings

With support from school leaders, use data to drive instructional practices to constantly improve student achievement and instruction

Seek to constantly develop and improve teaching practices through ongoing feedback conversations with School Leaders and other school faculty within KIPP Minnesota

S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching

Minnesota state certification in teaching appropriate subject areas (K‑6 Special Education Elementary Education). Applicants who will hold the following credentials by August 31st of each school year are welcome to apply. Experience writing IEPs not necessary, will train

Customer focused approach

Experience with using technology in teaching and learning

Familiarity with current teaching/learning theories

Experience working in historically educationally underserved communities and communities of color

Minimum three (3) years of classroom teaching experience
