The Material Handler B plays a key role in supporting production and inventory operations within an electronics manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, issuing, and moving materials while maintaining precise transaction records in ERP and inventory systems. The role ensures material availability, traceability, and compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements, and collaborates closely with Purchasing, Planning, Production, Quality, and Finance to keep programs running smoothly.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming material against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
Record receipts, transfers, issues, and other material transactions accurately in ERP, property, and inventory systems.
Label, identify, and route material to appropriate inspection, stockroom, warehouse, or production locations.
Store, issue, kit, and relocate material in accordance with work orders, pick lists, FIFO practices, and established material control procedures.
Maintain stockroom and warehouse organization, including part identification, material traceability, and housekeeping standards.
Prepare material for shipment, delivery, return, or transfer, including documentation for RMAs, customer deliverables, and internal moves.
Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Assist with internal and external audits by retrieving documents, reviewing transactions, and demonstrating material traceability.
Communicate material status, shortages, receiving issues, and transaction discrepancies to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Materials Management to support schedule execution and material flow.
Follow safety, security, export, and property control procedures when handling company inventory and government or customer-furnished property.
Support onsite warehouse, stockroom, and production operations, and perform occasional off-site work as needed.
Perform other related material handling and inventory control duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of relevant material handling, inventory, warehouse, or stockroom experience; Experience receiving, storing, issuing, or shipping material in a manufacturing, aerospace and defense, electronics, or similarly regulated environment.
Working knowledge of inventory control practices, including lot or serial traceability, FIFO, cycle counting, and basic material transaction discipline.
Experience using ERP, warehouse, or inventory systems along with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to read and verify shipping and inventory documents and maintain accurate transaction records.
Ability to identify straightforward material discrepancies, escalate issues appropriately, and work under general supervision within established procedures.
Ability to work onsite and comply with applicable safety, quality, property control, and export or regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in material handling activities such as forklift operation, picking, labeling, and using RF scanners.
Hands-on experience with inventory control, cycle counts, and production support in a warehouse or stockroom setting.
Experience supporting electronics manufacturing or aerospace and defense operations.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Navision, or similar ERP platforms.
Experience supporting internal or external inventory or compliance audits.
Reputation for reliability, attention to detail, and strong internal customer service.
Experience in planning and scheduling activities related to material flow.
Experience with quality control practices in a production or warehouse environment.

You will work primarily in a semi climate-controlled, clean warehouse environment that supports electronics manufacturing operations. The role is based mainly at the Sterling location, with flexibility to assist at nearby facilities in Chantilly and Fairfax as needed. The setting emphasizes safety, organization, and material traceability, using ERP systems, RF scanners, and standard material handling equipment such as forklifts to support warehouse, stockroom, and production activities.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA.
