Emergency Room Nurse Night

Overview As a Registered Nurse Emergency Department, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn—through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You\'ll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

Collaborate with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”

Serve as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and model a commitment to the organization\'s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).

Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

Educate patients/families/caregivers about the patient\'s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
