Dialysis Nurse ManagerGW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.We are seeking an experienced Dialysis Nurse Manager (Full-Time) to lead operations at our outpatient dialysis center. The ideal candidate will oversee daily clinical and administrative functions to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include supervising and supporting staff, coordinating dialysis treatment schedules, monitoring and maintaining quality standards, and providing education and guidance to patients and families. This role requires strict adherence to regulatory requirements, strong leadership skills, and a high level of clinical expertise in nephrology nursing to promote optimal patient outcomes and operational excellence.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Oversees daily operations of the dialysis program, ensuring safe, high-quality patient careManages staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient needs and treatment volumesLeads, coaches, and evaluates dialysis nursing and technical staff to support clinical excellence and professional developmentEnsures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS Conditions for Coverage, state regulations, infection control guidelines)Monitors quality metrics (e.g., infection rates, treatment adequacy, patient outcomes) and drives performance improvement initiativesCollaborates with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care plansOversees inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply management for dialysis servicesManages departmental budget, productivity, and cost control measuresSupports recruitment, retention, and staff engagement strategiesPromotes adherence to evidence-based practices, patient safety standards, and infection prevention protocolsAddresses patient, family, and staff concerns in a timely and professional mannerEnsures staff competency, ongoing education, and required certifications are maintainedQualifications Requirements:DC RN License requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferredAt least 12 months of experience in clinical nursing and an additional 6 months experience in providing nursing care to patients on maintenance dialysisCurrent BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferredCertified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) or Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferredEEO Statement: All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
