RN - WEEKEND SHIFT - OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

Position Status: This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-6:00pm. Closed weekends and all major holidays. Requires at least two days a week availability. Schedule flexible.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status.

Qualifications

Minimum education: Completed basic professional curricula of a school of nursing approved by a state board of nursing, holding diploma or degree.

Licensure: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.

Work Experience: 0‑6 months related experience preferred; at least 2‑year RN experience preferred.

Oncology experience and ONCC certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Understanding of disease state management processes, bio‑psychosocial model, and clinical pathways; effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication; ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently; detail oriented in examination of clinical and numerical data.

This position is not suitable for new graduates.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to care for patients.

Assess, organize, and complete patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors.

Document steps of the nursing process and use proper medical terminology.

Address problems and progress toward goals.

Facilitate patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and patient education resources tailored to age and cultural factors.

Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate.

Support unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities (in‑services, meeting unit education standards, completing variance reports).

Decision Making

Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives subject to general review in final stages only.

Working Relationships

Coordinate activities of others (does not supervise); lead others in same work performed (does not supervise); provide input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give them; work directly with patients and/or customers; interact with internal and external customers via telephone or face‑to‑face; collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff; frequently interact with individuals at Director level or above.
