Description of Work Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).

Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time- limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

This temporary position is located in Goldsboro - Wayne County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay $33.00 -$40.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. Come join our team as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate your passion to provide compassionate care! Registered Nurse position will perform specialized nursing and medical treatment and deliver care to developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals, many who are also medically fragile. This position carries out nursing care plans based on the diagnoses and pertinent medical information and individual needs.

The Registered nurse will independently carry out the nursing care process and will set up an environment to assist individuals in obtaining maximum level of functioning and/or recovery. They will administer medication, participate in interdisciplinary team process, assist in coordinating care for the individuals and work closely with the medical doctors, psychologist, social worker, recreational therapist, dietician and other professionals to assist the individual in meeting their maximum potential for independence and function while providing the best quality of life possible.

The Registered Nurse works a schedule that includes weekends, holidays, mandatory reporting during inclement weather, due to the facility providing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 8-hour Day, Evening, and Night; 12-Hour Day and Night schedules all part-time up to 29 hours per week. Shift Premiums for 8-Hour Shifts Day Saturday and Sunday 10% Evening Monday-Friday 20% ,Saturday and Sunday 30% Night Friday-Sunday 30% ,Monday-Thursday 20%

Shift Premiums for 12-Hour Shifts 7:00am-7:30pm (no premiums) 7:00pm-7:30am Monday-Friday 20% ,Saturday and Sunday 30%

Management Preference Knowledge of professional principles, practices and theory of nursing and its application along with laws, rules and regulations governing the provision of nursing care. Ability to guide and counsel subordinate staff and provide feedback and advice/counsel to nursing staff on care rendered to patients. Ability to demonstrate patience in dealing with patients, clients, and families as well as excellent communication skills to provide education on disease processes, treatment and self-care verbally, in writing, or by demonstration. Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations.
