• $Brooksource Engineering Services is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to support operations within a highly automated pharmaceutical device manufacturing environment in Durham, North Carolina. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment used in device assembly, packaging, and material handling operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with experience supporting automated manufacturing systems. Technicians will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Reliability teams to maximize equipment uptime, improve line performance, and ensure production schedules are achieved in a safe and compliant GMP environment.

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and supporting systems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment failures.
Diagnose root causes of equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Support equipment changeovers, startup activities, and maintenance shutdowns.
Automation & Controls Support
Troubleshoot equipment utilizing PLC-controlled systems, VFDs, servo motors, HMI interfaces, sensors, and robotics.
Support highly automated manufacturing and packaging equipment, including pick-and-place systems, conveyors, vision systems, and material handling equipment.
Assist Engineering teams with equipment modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support implementation and validation of engineering changes impacting manufacturing equipment.
Execute maintenance activities in accordance with GMP, safety, and documentation requirements.
Complete work orders, maintenance records, and equipment history documentation within CMMS systems.
Drive improvements in equipment uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reliability, and operational performance.
Collaborate with Operations to rapidly respond to equipment issues impacting production.
Adhere to all site safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE expectations.
Perform work safely in and around mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing systems.
Maintain compliance with pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations, procedures, and quality systems.

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Experience supporting automated manufacturing, assembly, or packaging equipment.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
Experience using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, calipers, and electrical testing devices.
Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, technical documentation, schematics, and equipment drawings.
Multi-craft maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, food and beverage, or highly regulated manufacturing experience.
PLC systems
Fanuc robotics

Conveyors and material handling systems
High-speed manufacturing equipment
Experience using Maximo or similar CMMS platforms.
Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification.

Mechanical curiosity and a passion for understanding how equipment works.
Willingness to learn new technologies and maintenance disciplines.
Professionalism when interacting with Operations, Engineering, and Quality stakeholders.

Pharmaceutical device manufacturing facility located in Durham, NC.
Highly automated production environment supporting critical manufacturing operations.
Work may involve standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working around active manufacturing equipment.
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
Overtime and schedule flexibility may be required during shutdowns, startup activities, and business-critical production periods.
