Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit serving medical, surgical, and orthopedic patient populations
Manage a patient assignment of 1:6–7 under a dyad care model, working alongside a dedicated CNA and the support of a virtual nurse
Administer and monitor titratable Heparin drips as needed; collaborate with Respiratory Therapy available 24 hours on the unit
Monitor telemetry in coordination with a centralized telemetry station
Participate in a classroom orientation week followed by two 12-hour supervised shifts on the unit; must pass a required open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher
Float to PCU or Burn units as required; adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
Ability to achieve a minimum score of 90% on the required open-book orientation exam
Compliance with facility fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
Must not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, orthopedic, or similar acute care setting
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and centralized telemetry systems
Experience working within team-based or dyad nursing care models
