Electrical Engineering Graduate (Commissioning)

The Developmental Engineer will be exposed to midstream engineering tasks and projects in many of the following applications: electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for natural gas gathering, compression, treating, dehydration, processing, stabilization, transportation, sequestration, and fractionation. The engineer will provide project and operational support for assigned assets’ power distribution and control systems. The engineer will work alongside qualified engineering and construction staff and be given increasing levels of responsibility commensurate with his or her experience. These responsibilities include technical and economic evaluation, design and construction of new assets, upgrading existing assets, performance testing, and research and analysis on new opportunities.
Candidate will contribute to operational support, engineering, and project tasks, including:
Specify, evaluate, and select electrical engineered and specialty equipment for operations and major/complex projects.
Evaluate, prepare, and analyze designs of electrical systems including distribution, motor/plant logic, control systems, lighting, emergency power, supplies, grounding, alarm and safety shutdown systems.
Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
Support Automation Team during the development and troubleshooting of plant PLC and DCS systems.
Provide technical assistance in the form of written reports, consultation, research, electrical system studies, National Electrical Code interpretations, recommendations, and utility contracts.
Ensure that company standards and strategies comply with the latest industry practices, safety, environmental and process safety management requirements.
Develop and maintain electrical engineering specifications, facility electrical area classification drawings and electrical one-lines.
Review outside engineering contractors' designs, studies, drawings, and material selections to ensure conformance with Targa specifications and standards.
Investigate and resolve problems associated with new or existing facilities and their electrical design.
Prepare budgetary and AFE quality cost estimates in addition to technical scopes of work.
Supervise field work and small projects in terms of coordinating activities, monitoring the budget, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of multiple tasks at one time.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited university.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness and eagerness to travel away from the home office, overnight, 30% of the time, with the understanding that occasional circumstances may necessitate additional travel (e.g. in-person hazard assessments and startup/commissioning activities).
Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, hard hat, FRC)
