Job Details We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in our construction operations, focusing specifically on miscellaneous steel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel and miscellaneous metals, and a proven track record in project estimation. Responsibilities Analyzing blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
Reviewing material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
Preparing estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
Accurately inputting costs for proposals and performing an accurate and detailed estimate from drawings for small to large miscellaneous metal projects.
Qualifications A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Steel Estimator or in a similar role in the construction industry.
Proficiency in blueprint reading and project estimation.
The ability to determine material and labor costs accurately.
Proficiency in using computer software for developing estimates.
A degree in a relevant field is preferred.
